Breathe in, breathe out, repeat.

Yes. I'm still posting here beyond questions, polls and humor.

I had to take a step back until life has paused enough for me to type without cursing the chaos in my world.

TheChild is still here with the Grands. It'll be months or years until she's on her feet enough to leave. That will be the subject of many rants, tears, arguments and general stress in my life.

Doesn't matter today because of something only a select few of you have known about.

===
In ye olde nutshell:

A few weeks ago, my wife L found a lump in her breast. Mammogram & ultrasound followed. A comparison on her last checkup showed that the mass had grown a wee bit. So off to the surgeon last week to get it checked out. Lots of worry and fear has made sleeping, coping and life in general very interesting.

L just got the call. All clear.

So complaints about politics, family, the weather, Fox News, unemployment - whatever.

My baby is OK - all I'm seeing is sunshine and rainbows today.

Our grandson Braylon Miles was born today at 11:13am. Weighing in at 6lbs 10ozs.

Mom and baby are fine - I'm amused.

*yawns* Is it too early for a nap?

Trying to get back into the daily work routine after being on vacation last week...no travels and such this time. L and I had a quiet 19th anniversary, then later in the week she headed to spend some time with TheChild and The Grands. Because of prior commitments and lack of extra mountains of cash, I stayed in town.

Solely because of [livejournal.com profile] vernard, I ended up spending the weekend seeing good friends and enjoying myself responsibly at a local convention in town...so anything I did or said that was a bit wild was V's fault.
Honest.
...no, Really.
*realizes no one is buying it*
*changes subject*

I hope to continue being more social even thought the 2010 Georgia Allergy season is here with a vengeance. I will not let pollen stop me...although I may be sneezing my way through the month with watery eyes and good medication.

How goes your Monday?

=====================

Now...when last we left our hero, he was needing some time away.

So he took it.

Back now.

=====================

L is back in town so I'm quite happy (sadly she is on day 2 of Jury Duty). Life is no fun when she's gone for too long.

Grandson 2.0 is laughing at every one as they try to 'plan' is arrival. :) TheChild goes to the doc today to see how he is. This is Day 11 of TheChild held hostage by her stomach.

=====================

Doing major readjustments of financial plans and actions. Thinking about putting some things on eBay -- including possibly a trifecta of my XBox, Sega Genesis and Nintendo 64. Still need to check demand and such.

=====================

What's your favorite Beatles that was 'covered' by another artist? I'm thinking "Taxman" by SRV.

TheChild and family came to Atlanta for a few days so we could hang out, but more importantly to pack the last of her stuff up from my house to drive it back to Vegas. When no one was at at the house and as they left, she (unknown to myself or [livejournal.com profile] felishathekitty) left some stuff - three furry packages in our apartment. The play-by-play, outrage and aftermath will come in another post as well.

The three cats are females, unspayed, about 3 years old. They are sisters (two black, one tabby) and they need more room, attention and love than we can give. A little skittish but wanting and needing love.

Can you make room so that Nicky, Cuddles and Precious can have a chance at a good home? They work independently as well as a clan. :) We will cover as much of any fees as we possibly can. If not, can you spread the word? Will either find them homes or a place in a no-kill shelter. I do not want them to have a short life at the "pound" due to my daughter's stupidity.

Thank you for helping...

And for those who can't help - you at least have cute pictures to look at. :)

TheChild and Trey left last night.

The visit was....long, tiring and stressful for much of it.

But several Trey moments and one good conversation with TheChild made the time bearable...ish.

Giving myself 24 hours to unwind and rest before picking up employment and money worries.

When you have some spare good thoughts, give one to my daughter's (TheChild) husband. He has just been shipped out to Iraq as a civilian consultant working on the unmanned Predator drones.

He first had said he was only going to the Middle East, but I think he only did that so my daughter wouldn't worry too soon until things were finalized. He'll be there for a few months, up to a year - exact time not known.

He's made many many MANY mistakes and gotten them in a financial hole - knowing him, this is his way of trying to dig them out and provide for his family. Can't argue with that.

So, when you are keeping our troops in your thoughts, don't forget the civilians there helping them.

On his way to Vegas, his new home.

He'll be 2 on the 15th.

Bittersweet is a good word for the way I feel.

Isn't it maddening when you see yourself so close to your goal that you are scared something (or someone) stupid is gonna screw it up?
