A Reprobayt looks at 7...

...years.

I blame stigmatic.

I always do...she's the one who gave me a code and my name. The rest has been history...but what an interesting trip it continues to be.

7 years ago, I was fighting with TheChild to turn in her homework. Now I make plans to go see my grandsons.
7 years ago, I was looking for work in the worst job market I'd ever seen. Now I have survived through two more that were/are worse.
7 years ago, I could count the people I count as friends on one hand without using all fingers. Now I am overflowing with them....and I like it.

People here have seen me through heartache, drama, death, birth and parenting.
Some of the greatest stories I've ever experienced (and/or not shared with anyone) has been because of this journal. Now many of you know that it's true when I say "I was minding my own business..." :)

Has it all been fun and games? Nope. I've been drawn into misery and drama because of this place, but I can look back and say I'd do it again (except for the really stupid things...)

LJ has let me (and the ever-silent felishathekitty) be ourselves with people who accepted us as we are...can't find that just anywhere anymore and I'm grateful.

Not to sound like an elder statesman, but there are a couple things LJ has cemented for me:

When things are going bad, read your journal -- it was worse before and as long as you have hope it'll get better.
When things are going great, read your journal -- it'll remind you of times past and (hopefully) keep you humble and keep you from being cocky.
