I have a question.
But before I do, the following disclaimer: I am not judging or condemning anything or anyone. I honestly don't get it....
Why would you want to use technology to track and broadcast where you are to the masses?

okay okay, I'm not; I agree with you - I'm not one of those persons that will continually post, track, update where I am every moment of the day. I will only post my whereabouts during con time or traveling abroad. Cuz those broads need to be able to find me.

The only time I can see doing that at all, is if I'm meeting up with people from 8 different states at, say, Dragoncon. And once I've met up with them... it would go RIGHT THE FUCK BACK OFF AGAIN. Because I don't like enabling stalkers.
well since you ask before coffee :)
"Cause a bunch of idiots doing the same stupid things are less conspicuous than one doing the same thing all by themselves?"
"I have WAY too much time/money on my hands"
"I need to do things that make me THINK I have friends"
I am not sure if you are talking the whole GPS sort of thing or the silliness of the whole Face Book craze...but seriously, in the long run, I got nothin'.

So, assuming you're not worried about someone breaking into your house when you're not there... What's the harm?
And who, other than my friends, would give a crap one way or the other? And if a friend happens to see I'm eating dinner next door, cool...

Anyhow, I'm not generally a fan of it. When I do post that I'm out somewhere, I usually don't give an exact location either. :P

So if you are at JavaMonkey in Decatur for example, you can let the world know.

Allegedly, if you sign in enough places enough times, you can get coupons or something. I'll probably never hit that level, and don't really care. And I find it very silly that I'm the "mayor" of my apartment complex and my mechanic... the latter of which probably doesn't even know what FourSquare is.
I got no excuse, dude. Baaaaaaa....
