Time is a harsh mistress...

I was searching for a particular email from a couple years ago.

When I found it, I looked at whom I had sent it to - only to realized half the people on it had passed away.

Don't take time (or people) for granted. Waiting for the better time to mend fences or reach out to people is a dangerous game.

Just sayin...

My thoughts...

I remember. I mourn. I choose not to turn away but understand those who do.

I look in the sky and remember.
I listen to the cries, arguments...the faithful and the cynical - and remember.

I know where I was, where my friends were and what happened in the days following - and remember.

I listen to the naysayers, the bigots, the political finger pointing - and remember.

What I remember is telling my young daughter that things will never be the same.
I remember watching the images, holding my wife and knowing that things would never be the same.

I listened to the speeches and watched the actions in the days and weeks that followed - in a vain hope that the spirit of togetherness would continue. I watched as people lost and gave their lives in the months following in a noble cause. I sighed as I watched revisionist history and political grandstanding in the years following take the place of common sense and a common goal.

But it mattered not - because I remember.

I remember those who in a moment of crisis showed the best that is inside all of us.
I remember those who lost their lives due to bastardization of religion.

I will Always take this day to Remember.

*looks around at the various rants and pitched fits about this and that*

What ever happened to conversation, moderation and patience?  Was there a drive-by and I missed it?

A wee bit of Justice.

*drinks to the news, and in honor of those who have lost their lives on and since September 11th, 2001*

My dear friends in hot areas. (Some tough love.)

It's hot.
I know.

Drink water. Stay hydrated.
Stay in the shade. Dress accordingly.
If you have issues with the heat healthwise, take care of yourself and do what needs to be done.
Find places with A/C you can hang out.
Don't be silly - use your A/C even if it's just to get the house to 78 degrees...the electric bill will figure itself out.

All that said:

Hearing people who live in area where it has always gotten hot in the SUMMERTIME complain about how hot it is like it's a surprise OMGWTFBBWSUMMERPOCOLPYSE makes me want to do evil things to them with a dry ice Popsicle. If you didn't have the Media blaring at you that we're all going to die from the YEARLY24HOURNEWSCYCLEITSF*CKINHOTALOOZA, you'd walk outside, say "It's hot." then either went out or stayed in without need of therapy.

Toughen up. Just sayin.

Isn't it odd...

...there are some people who have an easier time believing that an Alien Civilization would want us all dead than believing a Religion would want the same?

*shakes head*

All together now...EWWWW!

After seeing/reading this, I want one of these...

I'm definitely gonna bring my own stuff...I always had it in the back of my mind to do so, now I will make sure.
