Showing my love for ancient music. :)
Sep. 14th, 2010 08:47 pmAfter realizing that I didn't have the attention span for TV tonight, I have been DJing for
felishathekitty before she heads out tonight.
Tonight's theme: The long-ago music of the 80's. The playlist so far has included Heatwave, Jane Child, The Jacksons, Heavy D and the Boyz, Janet Jackson, Guy, Madonna, Jasmine Guy and Bell Biv Devoe.
Some nights you have to go back to your roots. ;)

Underrated Artists...
Jul. 23rd, 2010 01:54 pmMy mp3 player is in a holding pattern.
Can't update it due to a slow death spiral - but it has made me dig deeper in my diverse collection loaded on it. I have found myself "rediscovering" artists spanning decades.
We all have our all-time Favorites (mine are Prince, ELO, Public Enemy, George Clinton, Stevie Ray Vaughn to name a few...), but I've found myself remembering the talent of people like Loose Ends, Steve Winwood, Pink, Level 42 and others. They're the type of artists that have you asking over and over again "Why don't I own more Melissa Etheridge/REM/LTD/etc..."?
Who are your hidden musical gems? Popular musicians who (although respected) never seemed to get the heaps of praise you thought they deserved?
