The most powerful word in the world?
Dec. 23rd, 2005 09:48 amTomorrow.
I live by that.
You see, the one thing that is as close to being a dead-lock cinch is Tomorrow - there will always be another day in your life (until there isn't one).
Over the past few years, there were times where Tomorrow has been the only thought that has helped me make it through the next hour, next minute, next second.
I think about this today as I smile and look at the picture of my new grandson. A year ago today, my daughter left my home - because I had to kick her out. Our relationship was about as civil as Congress and the President. I hurt more that day than I care to admit. And the only thing that kept me from finding a hole and falling in was the voice inside that cried and said "Tomorrow - it has to be better than today. Just make it until tomorrow."
And for many, many days I faked it - convincing myself into believing that tomorrow was better...until I looked around and it WAS better.
----------------------------------
I have a beautiful wife, a child who is living her life as an adult and who now calls just to tell me she loves me. A new little one that makes me smile...
A friend asked me the other day what I was thankful for...the answer was simple.
Tomorrow.
