In NY state the dividing line between pop and soda is somewhere between central NY and western NY. I remember reading an article in college where the author tried to find that line and he decided it was some diner near the Finger Lakes. :)
Here in Oz, it is Coke, I think. Most people still call it fizzy drink as a general thing, but if you were to ask for it, it would be Coke.
And fountain soda is considered "post mix" which is still weird, until you realise they drink "cordial" which is liquid stuff you mix with water, like Kool-aid.
I could go on about the weirdness, but I'll stop. :D
