Conversations around the coffeepot
Aug. 15th, 2005 09:11 amCo-worker: How was the drive in this morning?
Me: The extra traffic from school starting was horrible. Hmm...you know, this is the first time I haven't had to worry about school supplies, bus schedules and a grumbling child on their first day of school.
Co-worker: I thought your daughter was still school-age?
Me: She is...but now she is married, living in Arizona with her Air Force husband and expecting their first child.
Co-worker: *blinks* I've really missed a lot lately.
Me: That's an understatement.
Co-worker: Do you miss it?
Me: Miss what?
Co-worker: The excitement and fun that is the first day of school with your daughter?
Me: *ponders* No. Not one bit.
:D
