How am I supposed to survive having a 16-year old daughter? Anyone???? Bueller????

* Comes to me at 10:50 PM to ask if I will drop her off at the movie theater to meet up with people I don't know to see a midnight movie (ignoring the 10 PM curfew in our area.

* Comes to me at 12:20 AM to ask if she could walk over to her male friend's house (someone I have not met or met his parents or know exactly what apartment they live in) because he says that his friend, rapper Lil' Bow-Wow is visiting. {I told her I didn't care if God was over there, there was no way in Hell, Heaven, Purgatory, alternate reality or dreamworld was she going.)

* Wakes me at 1:35 AM to ask if I was going to take her to get her learners' permit in the morning. News to me. In my sleep-addled brain, I told her to I would probably do it - just make sure to get up in the morning.

* She sleeps thru her alarm and hits snooze until 10:35 AM, then gets mad at me because I hadn't come in there.

* Gets mad when she finds out she has to pay for her permit - "Don't they just give it to you?"

* We head to the car at 11:45 AM, she runs back upstairs...I wait in the car. 10 minutes, no Child. I go back in the house, where she tells me she can't find the paper from high school that is required in our state. To me, "Don't you have it?"

At this point, I call Game Over.

I am listening to music. reading the latest Harry Potter with an adult beverage in my hand, hoping to bring some sanity to my work.

Saints' Be Praised for a fully stacked bar at home.

Any other suggestions are always appreciated....

Sweetie, that's not quite as bad as it could be. At least she's not climbing out windows to try and go. At least she asked. And I hear it said boys are easier to raise. :) I wouldn't know....so not breeding. :D

Quite true...just venting

Relatively speaking, if I had to trade my troubles with The Child with some that others had...I'd say 'No Thanks, I'll keep mine, Thank You'.

Yup, not too bad. Typical 16 year old. It's all about ME. LOL.

Well, hon, you could have always had a daughter like me instead, and it would have been more about shotguns out the window at 1am instead of just wanting learning permits. ;)
