enchant aka The Thompson
This community exists for the purpose of free stuff. I am the princess of free, my mom is the queen.
Definition of free: No sign up for this offer or that offer and you get free stuff. Free is free, no strings attached. If you have to pay for it, even S&H, it's not free and does not belong here.
Read the rules before joining, and definitely before posting!
Community Rules:
Do NOT post anything except for free stuff. This includes illegal schemes (Anything posted regarding free iPods will be deleted without warning, and immediately) and sign-up offers.
We do NOT tolerate rudeness or drama. PERIOD.
There are times when adult freebies are offered (condoms, personal lubrication items), so be aware of this, and if you're offended, feel free to step away from the community. There will be no enforcement of age due to the nature of the items.
No referral posts. There are plenty of communities out there that thrive on referrals, but that's not what we're about.
I live in Atlanta, and quite a few things that I see are here, but you can post stuff for any place.
NO FREEIPOD.COM POSTS HERE!
Helpful hints about signing up for contests/free stuff:
1. Create a separate Yahoo account for spam. Keep it active and check it.
2. For freebies, use a different first name than your own, so that things can't be linked to you directly(like credit cards or things in case you accidentally sign up for something you don't want) I use Tammy. Something like a nickname is good. Then you know when someone is calling you from a contest/or trying to sell you something.
3. NEVER give out your Social Security Number, Bank Account, Savings Account, Cell Phone Number, Or Work Number, or information about your children. This should be obvious, but to some it is not. Do not fall for scams. Do not sign up for credit cards just to get free things. Don't put what times of the day you'll be not home.
4. If you get mailed checks, check the fine print. On Clark Howard's www.clarkhoward.com show he mentioned how that checks can be legal contracts, so that they can send you a $4 check, and you might be signing up for a $200 service taken from your bank account. Read the fine print. Check out his site, it's great!
5. If you put your phone number and get called by telemarketers say No I do not want that, take me off your list. Alternatively get caller-id, or screen your calls.
6. Never spend money to get free stuff. It's not free if it costs you anything. Even shipping and handling.
7. The best contests of all are those which have few entrants, or you can control how many entries that you put in the box. The best are tables set up in different physical places that you can enter in. If you're entry looks different from the rest, it's likely to be pulled, example: all entries are on white paper, and your's is on the back of a pink flyer.
8. You can't win a contest if you don't enter. Period.
9. You don't get by in life if you don't ask for what you want.
