Was in conversation with the ever-perky [livejournal.com profile] olliesmama, when we came upon the subject of care packages. Back in college my aunt would send me a small box packed with food, desserts, candies (once even a whole cake!). It would make my day - I miss that.

If you were to get a care package from someone (a small/medium box), what would you want in it?

And no kinky stuff -- I'll do a sex care package later...

Inquiring minds want to know...

I'd want a Canadian care package. :)

Jeannie's cake (only available in Winnipeg). Butter tarts, Cadbury or Nielsen chocoate, empress cookies.

Geeze, now I'm hungry! :)

LOL You've got most of my ideas already...

  • bubble bath
  • music mix cds you made
  • snacks
  • kevin smith dvds
  • newest books by Peter David
  • newest book by Laurell K Hamilton
  • pictures of my Atlanta friends
  • anything celtic
  • fur covered mice for Ollie (he amuses me)

Now you gotta tell me....

Likely either tea or chocolate. Or possibly nifty music that you think that I'd like.

I would want little toys, fun things that really were only bought because they reminded the care packager of me... a letter...some silly confetti...Candy!...or something they made... yeah... a mix CD is also cool.

Hello....I just thought I'd ask...do you mind if I add you? I've seen you around, and we seem to have many friends in common....

MMmm, I'd probably second little silly toys. Little windup toys or figurines of a character you know they like or something teeth achingly cute is always good. Candy, but seperate wrapped pieces so they last longer. Home made cookies just say love to me. My mom never sent me a care package though.

Hmm... A care package - I love the idea of a mix CD, I have ones from my husband (an anniversary thing each year) and just love them! Oh, and one from my Seahorse! ... a book that the sender likes and would like me to read, fun silly things like a clipping from the newspaper, inexpensive dangle earrings (I keep losing mine), and maybe an audio-letter. Sometimes you just need to hear someone's voice.

We get care packages from my husband's mom several times a year - unannounced - and it's loads of fun.

I love getting chocolate in the mail. And, well, I just love getting /stuff/, postcards, letters, candy, cds, keychains, random things people think I would like...yeah....

Which begs the question....

...what do you like?

Or should I just start reading at the beginning and figure it out for myself?

:)

*laugh* Well, if you started reading at the beginning of my current journal, you'd get less than half the story. There's more than two years of my life in [livejournal.com profile] sunshinegirl.

But yes, I'm a fan of figuring it out for yourself. *grin*

I don't know how I missed this the first time around, I love the idea. My best friend just after highschool would send me care packages when I first moved down South. Bookmarks, Mix Cd's, magnets, cool rubber duckies, nifty bandaids, rice candy, female action figures, nifty post cards, stickers, and books.

And wasting it on the computer?? ;)
