Dogma & Kevin Smith is to his generation what Blazing Saddles & Mel Brooks was to his.

I just...can't see....Kevin Smith asking Clevon Little, or Chris Rock for that matter, to pull a prop gun on himself, and do the, "Don't move, or the nigger gets it!" scene. Though...I will say Chris Rock could pull it off!

I just feel like Mel Brooks went after many absurd aspects of isms. racism, classism, sexualism, and he liked to scewer icons. He was the master of flames, at least in his prime. He was also a satirist.

Kevin Smith is wildly funny. And he's certainly gone after religion, and stereotype, but...Satirist? I'm just not sure I agree.

I agree. With pretty much everything. Smith was aiming specifically at religion. Brooks was aiming at everything under the sun (and hitting it dead on).
