Note that while this single serve coffee maker is a freebie, it can only use THEIR "coffee pods".

So this is like a free razor with a single blade. Or a free inkjet printer with 1/4 full tanks.

And $15 isn't quite "free" either..

(You know, it sucks to be as suspicious as I am... )

But then again, amazon is selling it, with some extra coffee and a travel mug, for like $65 and people are buying it. And you can buy "refillable" pods from third parties on amazon.

I've got one and I never used their pods past the first freebies. I've got 4 re-useable pods, and I just use those with my own free-trade organic coffee :P

On the other hand, I wish I'd waited till this promo... mine's plain black! I want a pretty blue one! :P

Actually, you can use just about any 8 gram coffee pod, which are very readily available over the Internet from sites like http://www.coffeepodcafe.com/ and http://www.bettercoffee.com/. I believe the Senseos take 62mm pods, but don't quote me on that cause I couldn't find a good link on the topic.

Ah, yes.. One of those. I have one. Got it back in '06 when they had their promotion for it as well (but I never had to pay the shipping/handling. Got it completely free). Only used it maybe 3 or 4 times? It's sitting in the underneath cabinets by my stove with the other kitchen items I use once in a blue moon, and the rest of those pods are in a box in my pantry somewhere.

Meh. I'll stick with my Cafe Britt, Boca Java and my Coffeeshop of Horrors =).

I got mine through this program months ago, it's a god-send for avoiding the horrible Folgers at work, and since I only really make one cup every day or two, it's perfect.

As I mentioned to skellington, you can buy pods that fit this from many, many other manufacturers besides just Senseo, as long as you get pods that are 8 grams or less.

I got mine through a similar promotion and it works great. Jerm calls it the "rocket pot." We either use whichever brand pod he likes the taste of (not Senseo's crap, that's for sure) or I make up custom pods.

Hate the damn reusable pods so I got the sealable filters and the Perfect Pod Maker for about $20 on Amazon.
