• Bruce Springsteen = my childhood. Therefore he is covered with the misty watercolors. Also, still hot at 60. (!!)
• There with you on everything else. Though I hate my voicemail. It's usually work, people wanting money or my ex-husband. None of which are fun.

I love Bruce; he's up there with Mark Knopfler in my list of Old Rock Dudes I Dig Completely and Wholeheartedly. However, I thought part of the *point* of Bruceness is that he's not godlike.

I'm with you on Reality TV, Twilight, and the whole earlobe thing.

I also fail to get: Pants hanging down to your thighs, those stupid 70s-looking "I-need a haircut and a shower" hairdos especially when paired with dumb-looking stocking caps that young boys are wearing these days (both of these being proof of my essential fuddiduddiness); the so-called brilliance of the Talking Heads; why on earth "bony" would be considered the pinnacle of attractiveness and sexiness in women that we should all aspire to; white and/or male guilt, which seems to be an excuse to create animosity by same (white/male) claiming they're being oppressed. Also, taking interstates when better, more scenic state routes exist. I fail to get that.

People who do stupid crap on the water, like failing to use a life vest because they think they're too macho to drown, or drinking heavily while boating, or trying to call the Coast Guard because they ran out of gas.

Things I don't 'get' are ballet, opera, and 'modern' art that looks like its been painted by a 3 year-old. I also don't 'get' people who think the moon landing was a hoax, the Obama 'birthers', and people who support Sarah Palin.

Using the same word twice in a row in a sentence and thinking it means something different ("It was a date but it wasn't a 'date date'...").

I sorta get that one. I think that comes from growing up around people who use English so differently than what I grew up with, it was like using a different language.

Things I don't get would probably be a book I don't have time to write... ping me on that later? ;-)
